Dolichonyx oryzivorus, Bobolink
Notes: Vacationed in North Hatley again. The local bicycle path is a good birding area between km 3-5. Saw a Bobolink on a shrub, and next day cut off the path into the adjacent fields expecting to find more. The grasses were thigh high and the ground soggy from all the excessive rain, but the Bobo’s where there.

Dolichonyx oryzivorus, Bobolink
Notes: Off the bicyclepath, in North Hatley there are hayfields that hide Bobolinks. Traversing the ditch and a few yards of swampy parts one can walk in the waist high grasses. Bobolinks nest in the tall grasses and when approaching to 50 yards they fly up and perch on the higher stalks, calling out their warnings.
